When attending Ashe Green Riding to ride we require the following to be worn:

Head – All riding hats need to comply with the latest BS standard, All PAS 015 and VG1 (either must be kitemarked). For those that do not have their own hat, you can hire from us for £1. If you bring your own, we will check that it meets this standard. If it does not, we will require you to wear an Iken Bay Riding hat which you can hire from us for £1.

We recommend hair is tied up into a bun or low ponytail – avoid plaits/braids, clips and grips as these can be uncomfortable underneath a hat.

Top - T-shirts, polo shirts, jumpers. Not strapless or strappy. Waterproof coats when raining or during colder months (coats must be done up).

Legs - Loose trousers, jogging bottoms or thick leggings are most comfortable for riding. Tight jeans can be restricting. Shorts are not suitable. For regular riders you may want to invest in some riding tights, jodhpurs, or breaches (breaches if wearing long boots/chaps) but they are not essential.

Feet - You will need to wear boots with a small heel – not trainers. We have a small selection of boots that you can hire from us for £1.

Hands - Gloves are optional but recommended.

Jewellery – we ask jewellery is removed as it could snag of get stuck.

Cold weather - If riding with us during the winter months, be sure to wrap up warm with removable layers and a waterproof coat.
